Eyebrow lift
What does it consist of?
A brow lift is a cosmetic surgery procedure that allows for the correct repositioning of the eyebrow, lending harmony and expressiveness to the face. The correct position of a man’s eyebrow should correspond to the upper orbital rim, while for women it should be slightly above. A drooping eyebrow gives the face an expression of tiredness, so it is important to intervene if necessary. A brow lift is generally requested by patients between the ages of 40 and 60 and is often combined with other plastic surgery procedures such as blepharoplasty.
Preoperative visit and postoperative course
The Pre-Operative Visit During the first visit, the plastic surgeon, Dr. Manola, will identify the imperfections in the periorbital area and their causes. A drooping eyelid, a tired look,
and wrinkles around the eyes are not always due to excess skin, but can also be caused by a sagging eyebrow. In this case, blepharoplasty, the procedure that eliminates excess skin from the upper eyelid, would not be effective; in fact, it could worsen the situation. It is therefore essential to understand how to intervene to restore a harmonious and more youthful appearance to the face. During the visit, the plastic surgeon will also prescribe the pre-operative tests to be performed.

The brow lift procedure involves a small incision on both sides, well hidden by the hairline in the temporal region, through which the eyebrow tissues are repositioned in the correct position: higher and further back thanks to absorbable stitches.
The brow lift can be performed under local anesthesia with deep sedation or, if the patient prefers, under general anesthesia. In either case, hospitalization is not required.
The post-operative recovery is usually quick and painless. After 10 days, a meeting with the plastic surgeon is required to remove the stitches from the temporal region. The scars will be invisible, well hidden by the hairline. Some swelling may occur, but this will disappear within a few days.
